Theoria is an educational project: an interactive map that reads history through the theories of International Relations. It is built to be read, not to profile the people who read it. This page explains, in plain language, what the site does and does not collect.
What we collect
Anonymous, aggregate usage data. We measure which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from, so we can see what is useful and improve it. This is counted in aggregate and is not tied to your identity: it does not tell us who you are, and it is not used to build a profile of you.
One optional first-party cookie. When you first arrive, a banner asks whether you consent to a single first-party analytics cookie that helps us understand how people explore the map. If you decline, that cookie is never set and no such tracking happens. Your choice is remembered on your own device, and you can change it at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser.
What we never do
- We do not show advertising and carry no advertising trackers.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade any data about visitors.
- We do not track you across other websites, and we embed no third-party social or marketing pixels.
Where the site runs
Theoria is hosted on Vercel and its content is served from a Supabase database. Traffic to and from the site is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. These providers process requests on our behalf so the site can load; they are not given data to use for their own marketing.
Children and classroom use
Theoria is intended for students, teachers, and general readers. Because it does not require an account and does not knowingly collect personal information, it can be used in a classroom without visitors having to identify themselves.
Your choices and contact
You can decline analytics at any time, and clearing the site's data in your browser removes anything stored on your device. If you have a question about privacy, you can reach Ibrahim Alksibati through the about page.
Changes to this policy
If the site's practices change, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
